Avivo Group vows to curb unhealthy lifestyle

-

With diabetes affecting more than one in five people living in the UAE, every effort should be made to curb unhealthy lifestyle prevalent among the majority of the residents in the country, a Dubai-based health expert said on World Diabetes Day.

"Balancing good health with a healthy work ambience is imperative in this competitive arena. Let us strive to overcome unhealthy lifestyle which is accompanied with loads of health threats, including diabetes," said Avivo Group CEO Dr Atul, referring to the group's unique Employee Health Engagement Programme launched on World Diabetes Day.

The newly-designed programme aims to cover an array of activities, including the Spread the Blue Obesity Challenge.

"Numerous corporate houses have already joined hands with Avivo Group to fight diabetes through Employee Health Engagement Programmes. Avivo employees and their patients are joining hands to create awareness on World Diabetes Day by wearing blue silicone wrist bands," said Dr Atul.

"A hectic schedule at the workplace makes employees' lifestyle quite sedentary. Easy access to unhealthy food and heavy reliance on helpers or maids for housework further add to their health woes," he added. "All this lead to diabetes. Sadly, fewer than one in four patients properly manage their health condition, resulting in more deaths each year due to the sugarrelated disease."

In this background, Avivo has a speciallydesigned a diabetes package for the community at Dh149, which is at around an 80 per cent discount.

The offer can be availed at Primacare in Dubai, Reem Diagnostic and Medical Centre, Reem Al Nahda, and Reem Specialty and Medical Centre, Sharjah until November 30, the Dubai-based company said in a statement. Avivo Group - one of the fastest-growing healthcare service providers in the GCC with presence in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Kuwait; winner of Middle East Best Brands Awards 2019 and UAE Super Brand winner - is also offering the benefits of the unique Employee Health Engagement Programme to its staff and their family members. "We want to open a floodgate of healthy connect with our employees and their family members as well and create working at Avivo Group a delight.
