Govt speeds up vaccination process
ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Health Secretary Dr Nausheen Hamid said that all eligible citizens should register for COVID vaccination drive as government speed up its registration process and expanding country-wide Covid vaccination centers with appointment of new data entry staffs.
New mass Covid vaccination centers are being opened, as the government bids to meet its target of vaccinating at least 80 per cent of its population by the end of this year, she said while talking to a private news channel. The nationwide inoculation program aims to give the population immunity from coronavirus that will help curb its spread as well as bring down infection cases, she highlighted.
As part of the vaccination program, health authorities through social and electronic media awareness drives are encouraging citizens to "choose vaccination" in order to beat the deadly pandemic, as vaccination is only way to counter the disease effectively, she added.
Pakistan administered over 2 lakh anti-Covid jabs per day, which hopefully to touch over 7 to 8 lack doses per day in coming days, she mentioned. She said it is a positive indicator that more people are willing for vaccination and registering themselves," adding, every segment of society will have to fully play their role in dealing with the coronavirus. Replying to a question, she confirmed that there is no any shortage of vaccine and on weekly basis govts is getting consignments of vaccine to cover rest of population.
