NOT ‘MUD’ ANYMORE: THE ‘ALIMANGO’ HAS A NEW NAME

KNOWN LOCALLY as‘alimango’, this ten-legged decapod crustacean is also called the Indo-Pacific swamp crab, though ‘alimango’ was more commonly translated as “mud crab.”

As crabs live and thrive in mangroves, the mud crab will now be called the ‘mangrove crab’.
