20% diskuwento para kay teacher, iginiit

Isang babaeng mambabatas ang naghahangad na mapagkalooban ang mga guro ng 20 porsiyentong diskuwento sa mga bilihin at serbisyo sa lahat ng pangunaging establisyemento, restawran, sinehan, recreation center, sasakyan, at sa serbisyong medikal at dental.

Isinusulong ni A-Teachers Partylist Rep. Juliet Cortuna ang pagpapasa ng panukalang batas na layuning mabigyan ng universal discount at courtesy card ang lahat ng guro sa pampubliko at pribadong paaralan, na magbibigay din sa kanila ng mga prebilehiyo na hindi makipila kung tinatawag ng pagkakataon.

"School teachers fulfill their duties beyond the ambit of their responsibilities. For the most part, it has become their tacit commitment to their students. The sacrifices they make are priceless," sinabi ni Cortuna sa paghahain ng House Bill 4297 o “School Teachers Universal Discount and Courtesy Card Act”.

Sa ilalim ng HB 4297, bibigyan ng universal discount at courtesy card ang lahat ng guro upang makakuha ng 20% diskuwento sa mga bilihin at serbisyo.

"Their work does not cease after school hours. Once they get home, they judiciously go over the papers of the students to accurately assess individual academic performance. They painstakingly ensure that everyone is accounted for and that no learner is left behind," sabi ni Cortuna.

Nakasaad sa HB 4297 na ang halagang kinakailangan para sa epektibong implementasyon ng panukalang batas ay kukunin sa budget ng Department of Education ( DepEd) at ng Commission on Higher Education ( CHED) sa ilalim ng kasalukuyang General Appropriations Act (GAA).
