Pacquiao-Khan, posibleng gawin sa UK sa Nobyembre
Umaasa pa rin si two-time world champion Amir Khan ng United Kingdom na matutuloy ang laban niya kay dating pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao kahit nabulilyaso ang nakatakda nilang laban ng Pinoy boxer sa Mayo sa United Arab Emirates.
Nagpahiwatig si Top Rank big boss Bob Arum na matutuloy ang sagupaan ng dating magka-stable sa Wildcard Gym ni Freddie Roach sa Nobyembre posibleng sa London kung saan inaasahang manonood ang tinatayang 80,000 boxing fans sa Wembley o Manchester Arena.
Ngunit iginiit ni Khan na totoong may alok na $38 milyong premyo para sa laban nila ni Pacquiao at hindi niya batid kung sino ang humarang para matuloy ito.
“People are saying the money in Dubai is not there - but the money is there. My team have spoken to the right people and they’ve shown the proof of it. I don’t know what the hold up is,” sabi ni Khan kay boxing reporter Chris McKenna ng The Daily Star sa London.
Maraming naghihinala na may kinalaman si Arum kung bakit umatras ang mga promoter ng Pacquiao-Khan bout sa UAE pero pinaalalahanan niya na magsanay na lamang si Khan sa susunod na laban.
May record si Khan na 314-0 win-loss-draw na may 19 sa panalo sa knockouts at galing siya sa pagkatalo sa 6th round knockout nang hamunin si exWBC middleweight champion Saul Alvarez ng Mexico noong Mayo 7, 2016 sa Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Manny would like to fight Amir Khan but the problem is where?” tanong ni Arum. “I don’t think it would do all that well here in America, it might do well Middle East but they haven’t come up with the money yet, although we are talking to people. It could be UK.”
