Saguisag Jr., UAAP Executive Director

ITINALAGANG bagong Executive Director ng University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) si Atty. Rene Andrei Saguisag Jr., ayon sa pahayag ni Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Michael Alba.

Ayon kay Dr. Alba, pangulo rin ng UAAP Season 80 host Far Eastern University, na ang pagkakatalaga ni Saguisag ay bahagi ng isinusulong na pagbabago sa liderato ng pamosong collegiate league sa bansa.

“Along with the heads of the member universities now acting as the trustees, for the first time in 80 years, the Association will have an executive director to oversee its operations,” pahayag ni Dr. Alba.

Hindi estranghero si Rebo, tawag kay Atty. Saguisag, sa pamunuan ng UAAP dahil siya ang tumayong Commissioner of Basketball sa Seasons 78 at 79. Muli rin niyang hahawakan ang naturang posisyon sa pagbubukas ng liga sa Setyembre.

Bilang executive director, responsibilidad ni Atty. Saguisag ang maisulong ang liga na ayon sa panuntunan ng Board at international standard. Katuwang din siya ng Board of Trustees, Board of Managing Directors, at UAAP Committees.

Tangan ni Saguisag ang JD degree mula sa Ateneo Law School at BS in Sports Science graduate ng University of the Philippines.

Naging Deputy Commissioner of Basketball sa Season 93 ng National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at Commissioner ng Makabansa Basketball League 2017.

“It’s definitely an opportunity that any sports lover will find hard to resist. I also feel that it is another place where I can be passionate and be of help if in a modest way. “Nobody knows how long I’ll be here, but I do want my stay to mean something. In Season 80, we Go for Great. I am more than grateful and appreciative,” sambit ni Rebo.
