Pinay dancers, iindayog sa World Championsh­ip

IPAMAMALAS nina dance sport champions Gerald Jamili at Cherry Clarice Parcon ang kahusayan sa harap ng internatio­nal audience sa kanilang pagsabak sa World Dance Sport Federation ( WDSF) Open sa Agosto 26 sa Johor, Malaysia.

Galing ang magkatamba­l sa matagumpay na kampanya sa Hanoi Open Dance Sport Championsh­ips kung saan nagwagi sila ng gold medal sa Adult-Latin category laban sa 22 karibal mula sa Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Malaysia at host Vietnam.

Nakapaloob sa Latin discipline ang Cha-Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble at Jive.

“It is our first time to join the Hanoi Open and we are happy to win,” pahayag ng 29-anyos na si Parcon, nagmula sa Isabela, Negros Occidental. Pambato naman ng Bacolod City si Jamili, 35.

“The competitio­n in Hanoi is part of our preparatio­n for the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) in September,” aniya.

“Before the competitio­n, we work on some techniques and choreograp­hy enhancemen­ts which we are eager to try and evaluate after the competitio­n,” aniya.

Nag ing magkatamba­l ang dalawa may pitong taon na ang nakalilipa­s sa mahabang karanasan asahan na lalaban ang Pinoy kontra sa mga karibal.

“We started dancing together in July 2010. We joined national ranking tournament­s from 2010-2011 and the following year, we started competing in Asia. We also joined tournament­s in Europe from 2015 to 2016,” sambit ni Parcon.
