Ekonomiya lumago ng 6.5%

Nasa tamang direksiyon ang economic growth ng bansa na nagtala ng 6.5 percent expansion sa second quarter ng taon, sinabi ng Malacañang kahapon.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella, ipinuwesto ng huling economic growth figure ang bansa sa hanay ng fastest growing major economies sa Asya.

“We welcome this morning’s announcement by Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), that our gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.5 percent in the second quarter of 2017,” sabi ni Abella.

“Indeed, our growth momentum is on track and that we would sustain our pace for the rest of the year as we continue to lay down the foundation of a comfortable life for all through increased investments in infrastructure and social protection,” dagdag niya.

Nauna nang sinabi ng mga eksperto na lalampas sa anim na porsiyento ang ekonomiya, bunsod ng malakas na domestic demand at infrastructure spending. Ang ekonomiya ay sumulong ng 6.4% nitong first quarter.

Sinabi ni Abella na ang household consumption ay lumago ng 5.9% samantalang ang government consumption ay sumipa naman ng 7.1% mula sa 0.1% at ipinakikita nito ang malaking pag- inam ng kakayahan ng mga ahensiya ng gobyerno.

Sinabi niya na ang industry sector ay nasa 7.3%; ang services sector sa 6.1%, at ang agriculture sector ay lumago naman ng 6.3%.
