US Dream Team sa FIBA HOF

NANGUNGUNA ang nabuong USA Dream Team at mga dating NBA stars na sina Shaquille O’Neal at Toni Kukoc sa listahan ng 2017 Hall of Fame inductees ng FIBA.

Kasama rin nila sa listahan na inilabas ng FIBA ang pito pang mga personalidad mula sa tatlong magkakaibang kontinente.

Ang Dream Team ang unang Olympic basketball team ng US na binubuo ng mga aktibong NBA players na sinasabing pinakamalakas at pinakamatinding koponang nabuo sa kasaysayan ng sport sa buong mundo makaraang pagsama-samahin ang mga legends na sina Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley , Karl Malone at 2013 FIBA Hall of Fame Inductee David Robinson.

Iginawad ng Honors Committee ng FIBA Hall of Fame ang pagkilala sa Dream Team dahil sa “outstanding contribution” nito sa international basketball kasabay ng 25th anniversary ng paglahok nila sa 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Sina O’Neal (USA) at Kukoc (Croatia) naman ay kabilang sa anim na dating manlalaro na iniluklok kasama nina Mickey Berkowitz (Israel), Pero Cameron (New Zealand), Rajiza Mujanovic (Bosnia and Herzegovina) at Valdis Valters (Latvia).

Kasama rin nilang iluluklok sa Hall of Fame mula sa 150 kandidato ang dating coach na si Dusan Ivkovic (Serbia).

Magaganap ang induction sa House of Basketball - sa headquarters ng basketball’s world governing body sa Geneva, Switzerland - sa Setyembre 30.

“The 2017 Class of the FIBA Hall of Fame distinguishes itself for the impressive amount of success these personalities have experienced on the court for their respective countries. We congratulate them for all of their glorious moments and look forward to honoring them and welcoming them as the latest class of FIBA Hall of Fame inductees. We are especially pleased to enshrine the Dream Team 25 years after they stepped on the world stage and revolutionized basketball across the globe,” ayon sa pahayag ni FIBA president Horacio Muratore.
