Ombudsman ‘di natitinag

Nanindigan ang Office of the Ombudsman na hindi ito matitinag sa isinasagawang imbestigasyon sa yaman ni Pangulong Duterte.

“Sorry, Mr. President, but this office shall not be intimidated,” saad sa pahayag ng Office of the Ombudsman kahapon.

“The president’s announcement that he intends to create a commission to investigate the Ombudsman appears to have to do with the office’s ongoing investigation to issues that involve him. This Office, nonetheless, shall proceed with the probe as mandated by the Constitution,” saad pa sa pahayag ng Ombudsman.

Makaraang mapabalitang inimbestigahan ng Ombudsman ang yaman ni Pangulong Duterte, bumuwelta siya sa Office of the Ombudsman sa pagsasabing magtatatag siya ng sariling komisyon na tututok sa aniya’y nangyayaring kurapsiyon sa tanggapan ni Ombudsman Conchita CarpioMorales.

Gayunman, sa halip na matakot ay itinuturing ito ni Morales na malaking tulong sa Ombudsman.

“This Office, all the same, welcomes, as it has always welcomed, efforts to help cleanse its ranks. Its Internal Affairs Board, has in fact, entrapped and removed Ombudsman officials and employees for various offenses,” saad pa sa pahayag ng Ombudsman.
