Trillanes, katotohanan lang ang inilahad sa US senators

Inamin ni Senador Antonio Trillanes IV kahapon na nakipagkita siya kay United States Senator Marco Rubio.

Sa inilabas na pahayag, kinumpirma ni Trillanes ang Twitter post ni Rubio noong Miyerkules. Sinabi rin niya na nakipagpulong siya sa iba pang opisyal ng pamahalaan sa pagpunta niya sa US Capitol sa Washington DC.

“As mentioned in the tweet of Sen. Rubio, we talked about enhancing RP (Republic of the Philippines)-US relations, corruption and the human rights situation in the country,” aniya.

Gayunman, itinanggi ng opposition senator na nagsinungaling siya kay Rubio, iginiit na “only factual information” tungkol sa gobyerno ang kanyang iprinisinta.

Pinabulanan din niya ang mga alegasyon na kinukumbinse niya ang ilang grupo na pigilan si US President Donald Trump na bumisita sa bansa. Inaasahang dadalo si Trump sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit sa susunod na buwan.

“To be clear, I did not try to stop the state visit of Pres. Trump since these things are carefully planned and cannot be stopped on the mere say so of a Philippine senator.”

“Be assured that I pushed for the interests of our country. But let me emphasize that the interests of our country are not necessarily the same as the interests of Mr. Duterte,” aniya.

Habang isinusulat ang balitang ito ay nasa Amerika pa rin si Trillanes, ayon sa kanyang staff.
