Infra development, Marawi rehab tatalakayin nina Duterte at Abe

Ang tatlong araw na pagbisita ni Pangulong Rodrigo Dutetre sa Japan simula Oktubre 29 ay inaasahang lalong magpapasigla at magpapatibay sa relasyon ng Pilipinas sa “land of the rising sun”, ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs.

Tutulak si Duterte sa Japan bago dumalo sa Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings sa Vietnam sa Nobyembre 11 at sa pagiging punongabala ng Pilipinas sa 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit sa Nob. 13.

Sinabi ni DFA spokesperson Robespierre Boliver, sa briefing sa Palasyo kahapon na ang ikalawang pagbisita ni Duterte ay patunay ng malakas at malalim na ugnayan ng dalawang bansa.

Makikipagpulong si Duterte kay Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at iba pang matataas na opisyal ng Japanese government at maiimpluwnesiyang pinuno sa industriya.

Sinabi naman ni Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of Japan to Manila Takehiro Kano, na hindi maaaring isiwalat ang iba pang detalye ng mga pagpupulong ni Duterte sa Japanese officials ngunit tiniyak sa publiko ang pangako ng Japan sa relasyon nito sa Pilipinas.

“Japan and the Philippines share common values such as freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. So our bilateral relationship is robust across different administrations,” ani Kano sa parehong press briefing.

“This present visit would build upon the past achievement – built upon further the enhancement of the cooperation for the peace and stability of the region as strategic partners,” dugtong niya.

Binanggit ni Kano ang dating napagkasunduan nina Duterte at Abe sa economic infrastructure development ng Pilipinas, suporta sa Mindanao peace process, mga hakbang laban sa illegal na droga, at security at counter-terrorism measures.

“I cannot prejudge the details or outcome of the two leaders’ summit next week. But we would expect that basing upon the past talks, some of the concrete projects or cooperation would be forthcoming,” ani Kano.

Ayon kay Kano, nangako si Abe ng ¥1 trillion private at partner commitment para sa susunod na limang taon nang bumisita ito sa Pilipinas nitong unang bahaging taon.

Tatalakayin ng dalawang lider ang pagsasakatuparan sa Manila Subway Project o North-South Commuter Lines.

Sinabi ni Kano na handa ang Japan na magkaloob ng tulong sa pagbangon ng Marawi, Lanao del Sur, na limang buwang nalugmok sa digmaan.

“Japan is considering the way forward, how to support the rehabilitation, reconstruction of Marawi,” ani Kano.
