Abella, spokesperson pa rin ng Pangulo

Sa kabila ng mga alingasngas na malapit na siyang bumaba sa puwesto, si Undersecretary Ernesto Abella pa rin ang Presidential Spokesperson “as of this moment,” diin ng kanyang staff.

Ito ay matapos mapag-alaman na hindi na makakasama si Abella sa working visit ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Japan sa susunod na linggo sa gitna ng mga isyu na si Kabayan Partylist representative Harry Roque ang magiging bagong Presidential Spokesperson.

Wala rin si Abella sa Mindanao Hour/Bangon Marawi press briefing kahapon ng umaga.

Ayon kay Assistant to the Presidential Spokesperson China Jocson, si Abella pa rin ang may hawak ng nasabing posisyon at hindi ito nakadalo sa press briefing kahapon dahil sa kagyat na pangangailangan.

“As far as the Office is informed, there are pressing matters that Spokesperson Abella has to attend at the moment,” ani Jocson.

“It is not yet final whether he will go to Japan or not. He may or may not but currently he has to attend to more pressing matters,” dagdag niya.

“As of this moment he is still Presidential Spokesperson. And since he’s in town, you may hear from him next week,” patuloy ni Jocson.

Tiniyak ni Jocson, na patuloy na tutuparin ng Office of the Presidential Spokesperson (OPS), at mismong ni Abella, ang kanilang mga tungkulin.

“We are carrying out our task as always. He is still the Presidential Spokesperson. He is carrying out his mandate,” aniya.
