Testimonya ni Ventura sa hazing sana ‘di masayang—MPD

Umaasa ang Manila Police District (MPD) na mapupursigi ng Department of Justice (DoJ) ang mga kasong isinampa laban sa mga pangunahing suspek sa kaso ng pagkamatay sa hazing victim na si Horacio “Atio” Castillo III.

Ito ang naging pahayag ni MPD Director Police Chief Supt. Josel Napoleon Coronel, kasabay ng testimonya ni Aegis Juris fraternity member Marc Anthony Ventura na nagdetalye sa hazing rites kay Atio.

Ayon kay Coronel, malaki ang maitutulong ng testimonya ni Ventura sa kaso.

“Hopefully, the DoJ will resolve the case favorably and the case will be filed in court,” pahayag ni Coronel sa isang panayam.

Sa utos ni Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada na kilalanin at dalhin sa korte ang lahat ng mga posibleng salarin, sinabi ni Coronel na mayroong pitong hindi pa nakikilalang suspek, na kinabibilangan ng tatlong miyembro ng Regina Juris sorority, na sinasabing saksi sa brutal na hazing rites.

Una rito, sa testimonya na isinumite sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), idinetalye ni Ventura kung paano pinagtulungtulungan saktan ng 10 miyembro ng fraternity si Castillo sa loob ng Aegis Juris library noong hatinggabi hanggang madaling araw ng Setyembre 17, at pinangalanan ang ilang “brod” na lumahok sa initiation.

Samantala, sinabi kahapon ni Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II na parurusahan ang mga taong naglabas ng Sinumpaang Salaysay ni Marc Anthony Ventura kaugnay ng pagkamatay ni Castillo.

“Any copy of the Sinumpaang Salaysay (sworn statement) obtained by anyone and released publicly is a clear violation of the law and will be dealt with accordingly,” babala ni Aguirre.

Lumagda ng memorandum of agreement (MOA) sa Department of Justice (DoJ) si Ventura upang magpasailalim sa Witness Protection Program (WPP) matapos niyang ipahayag ang nalalaman sa pagkamatay ni Castillo.

“Under Section 7 of Republic Act No. 6981, an Act Providing For A Witness Protection, Security Program And For Other Purposes, no information or documents given or submitted in support of an application for admission to the WPP shall be released except upon written order of the Department or the proper court,” Aguirre.

“As of this statement, the Office of the Secretary of the DOJ has not issued any written order authorizing the release of any copy of the Sinumpaang Salaysay of Marc Anthony B. Ventura which he submitted to the Witness Protection Program,” paalala niya.
