Phoenix, may Alas sa PBA season

ITINALAGA bilang bagong head coach ng koponang ng Phoenix sa PBA si dating Alaska assistant coach Louie Alas.

Ang appointment ni Alas ay inihayag tatlong araw bago ang 2017 PBA Rookie Draft ni team governor Raymond Zorilla kasunod ng pagbibitiw ng dating coach na si Ariel Vanguardia at deputy Justino Pinat.

“After evaluating the performance of the team this past season, Mssrs. Ariel Vanguardia and Justino Pinat have earlier stepped down from their coaching positions with the best interest of the team in mind,” nakasaad sa inilabas na team statement.

“The said coaches represent two of the brightest coaching minds in the game today and we feel fortunate that they will be leading the future of our team as well as other basketball related activities,” ayon pa sa statement. “The management is elated with these changes and are expecting a different Fuel Masters team in terms of attitude, passion, intensity and pride in each game they play in Asia’s oldest professional basketball league.”

Sina Alas at Robinson ay bahagi ng coaching staff ni Alex Compton’s sa Alaska.

“I’m super excited to take on a head Coaching position again as it will be a big challenge. I’m likewise sad as I’m leaving Alaska, especially Coach Alex who has very supportive and a dear friend to me and my family,” pahayag ni Alas.

Si Alas ang dating head coach ng Letran noong NCAA Season 88 habang si Robinson ang kasalukuyang head coach ng Lyceum sa ongoing NCAA Season 93, kung saan finalist na ang Pirates matapos magtala ng 18-0 eliminations sweep.
