Folayang, bigo sa ONE
NAPALITAN ng pag-aalala ang pagbubunyi ng crowd nang tamaan ng bigwas si local hero Edward ‘The Landslide’ Folayang at mapatumba ng karibal na si Martin ‘The Situ-Asian’ Nguyen ng Vietnam sa main event ng ONE: Legends of the Worlds kahapon sa MOA Arena.
Nabigo si Folayang na maidepensa ang ONE Lightweight title laban sa Featherweight World Champion na si Nguyen na tinanghal na unang two-division champion sa kasaysayang ng ONE.
Sa co-main event, napanatili naman ni Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes ng Brazil ang ONE Flyweight World Championship kontra Danny “The King” Kingad ng Team Lakay.
“This is a special place for me. Last year, I came in and won Fight of the Night, right now it’s possibly the Knockout of the Night. I think coming into the fight my main objective was a TKO or a submission. Eduard, I still love you like a brother, I hope you’re fine and I hope you come back stronger. I’m still your number one fan,” pahayag ni Nguyen.
Naging doble ang kabiguan ng Pilipinas nang mabigo si Kingad na ipinapalagay na susunod na world champion ng bansa.
”This night was amazing for me. It was a tough fight against Danny Kingad. He has a big future ahead of him, but now it’s my time. This is my house, this is my belt, and this is my class,” pahayag ni Moraes.
Hindi naman tuluyan ang kalungkutan ng Pinoy fans nang magwagi si Filipino knockout artist Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon kontra South Korean-American dynamo Kevin “Oldboy” Chung para patatagin ang ang kampanya na makasikwat ng world title fight.
