Kapritso ng Bilibid drug lords wawakasan ni Bato

Ang hindi natatapos na usapusapan kaugnay sa patuloy na operasyon ng mga drug lord sa National Bilibid Prisons (NBP) ang maaaring nagtulak kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na italaga si Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa bilang susunod na director ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

At ngayon pa lamang ay nagbabala na si dela Rosa sa convicted drug lords na umayos sila at itigil ang mga ilegal na aktibidad.

“I will account everyone, where you are, and what you are doing and I will see to it that you will not continue your drug trafficking there,” paniniyak ni Dela Rosa.

Notoryus ang NBP sa special treatment sa mayayamang bilanggo, lalo na sa mga nakakulong na drug lords na nagtatamasa ng mararangyang buhay at hinahayaang magkaroon access sa kanilang contacts.

Sinabi ni Dela Rosa na marahil ang pagsupil sa operasyon ng convicted drug lords ang layunin ni Duterte sa paglagay sa kanya sa BuCor.

“There is no other reason why the President wanted me there but to stop their happy days of selling drugs,” ani Dela Rosa.

Nang tunungin kung magiging madugo sa NBP kapag siya na ang pinuno ng BuCor, sinabi ni Dela Rosa na nakadepende ito sa mga galaw ng drug lords sa loob.

“If they would shoot it out with me, if they want to fight with me, then it would be bloody. But if they would not, then it would be peaceful. What is important is that they stop,” ani Dela Rosa.

“So see you there after my extension,” dagdag niya.

Ikinakugod ni Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II ang pagtalaga kay Dela Rosa bilang susunod na hepe ng BuCor.

“Definitely I support his appointment and I know that his stint as CPNP (PNP chief) will be very useful in addressing the problems in the BuCor,” ani Aguirre kahapon.

“BuCor needs the kind of caliber of Gen. Bato to solve its very difficult problems,” aniya pa.

Ipinahayag ni Duterte nitong Miyerkules na pinapalawig niya ng tatlong buwan pa ang serbisyo ni Dela Rosa, na magreretiro sana sa Enero 18, 2018.

“Bato is extended kasi may order pa ako sa kanila na hindi pa tapos,” paliwanag ni Duterte.
