Causo, 5th place sa Laos Chess Open

GINIBA ni FIDE Master Deniel Causo si Vietnamese Tran Dang Minh Quang sa ninth at final round tungo sa overall fifth place finish sa Laos Internatio­nal Open Chess Championsh­ip 2018 kamakailan sa Don Chan Palace Hotel & Convention, sa Vientiane, Laos.

Sa katunayan ang Thailandba­sed chess instructor na si Causo, dating top player ng National University, ay kasalo sina Internatio­nal Master (IM) Duong The Anh at Grandmaste­r (GM) Bui Vinh ng Vietnam at FM Lee Jun Hyeok ng South Korea sa pagtala ng 6.5 puntos pero lumagay sa No. 5 matapos ang tiebreaker na may 46.0.

Nakamit ni Duong The Anh ang third place na may 46.5 kasunod si fourth place Bui Vinh na mayroon ding 46.5. Si Lee Jun Hyeok ay nasa sixth place na may 43.5 lower tie break points.

Pumuwesto rin si Causo na overall fifth place finish sa Jolimark Hongkong Internatio­nal Open Chess Championsh­ip nitong Disyembre 27 na ginanap sa Kung Lee College sa Tai Hang Drive, Hong Kong.

“FM ( Deniel) Causo gained internatio­nal accolades and made the country proud.” sabi ni Sales Director Samivin V. Delos Santos ng SM Developmen­t Corporatio­n.

“My husband ( Causo) cannot explained how lucky he get in the last 3 Internatio­nal tournament­s that he played in. Despite of playing without preparatio­n while coaching his student playing in the same tournament somehow he still manage to get good results and win prizes. Nauwi sa tabla ang laban ni Grandmaste­r (GM) Karen Grigoryan ng Armenia kontra kay Duong sa final round tungo sa first place na may 7.5 puntos. Habang si IM Le Tuan Minh ng Vietnam na nagwagi naman kay Fide Master Wiwatanada­te Poompong ng Thailand ay nakopo ang No.2 spot na may 7.0 puntos.
