SSS chairman at commissioner papalitan na

Nagpasaya si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na huwag nang palawigin ang appointments ng dalawang matataas na opisyal ng Social Security System (SSS).

Inilahad ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque na pinutol na ang mga serbisyo nina SSS Chairman Amado Valdez at Commissioner Jose Gabriel La Viña matapos pumaso ang kanilang mga termino nitong Hunyo 30, 2017.

Ang dalawang opisyal ay nagsisilbi na lamang ngayon sa holdover capacity simula nang pumaso ang kanilang mga termino, paliwanag ni Roque.

“The Executive Secretary has formally informed Mr. Jose Gabriel M. La Viña (or) Pompee as well as and Mr. Amado D. Valdez, that their term of office, both of which expired 30 June 2017 as commissioners of the SSS, will not be renewed,” sinabi ni Roque sa news conference.

Sa mga liham sa dalawang opisyal, inimpormahan sila ni Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea na “Upon instructions of the President, your service in the SSS is hereby discontinued effective immediately.”

Nang tanungin sa rason kung bakit hindi na pinalawig termino ng dalawang opisyal, sinabi ni Roque na ito ay “presidential prerogative.”

Sa ngayon ay wala pang ipinahahayag na kapalit ng dalawang SSS executives.

Si Valdez, dating dean sa University of the East College of Law, ay itinalagang SSS chairman noong Oktubre 2016. Si La Viña, social media director ng presidential campaign ni Duterte, ay itinalagang commissioner nang sumunod na buwan.
