Mall hinikayat tumulong sa shooting probe

Hinimok kahapon ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) ang pamunuan ng isang mall sa Maynila, na makipagtulungan sa mga imbestigador ng pulisya kaugnay ng insidente ng pamamaril o sila ay mahaharap sa parusa.

Ito ang inihayag ni NCRPO Regional Director Oscar Albayalde kasabay ng paghikayat sa pamunuan ng 999 mall sa Divisoria na magsumite ng kopya ng closedcircuit television (CCTV) footage sa pagpatay kay Edilberto Pornobi, 60, isang stall owner.

“They seemed hesitant in giving to the police a copy of the CCTV footages inside the mall, it’s as if they couldn’t say if the cameras are working (o hindi). That’s why I told the (Manila Police District’s Police Station-11) station commander to file obstruction of justice against the management if they refused to give us the CCTV,” ani Albayalde.

“They said that there were operational CCTVs in the area but when the investigators asked for a copy of the footages, they couldn’t provide any. The troops weren’t given with anything,” dugtong niya.

Sinabi ni Albayalde na hinihintay pa rin ang naturang kopya ng CCTV footages.

Sa oras na mapatunayan sa imbestigasyon na may pagkukulang sa seguridad sa mall ay mahaharap din sa kasong administratibo ang pamunuan.

Palaisipan pa rin sa mall security kung paano naipuslit ang mga baril ng mga suspek, na ginamit ng mga ito sa pagpatay sa biktima.

Ayon sa pulisya, posibleng itinago ng mga suspek ang mga armas sa isang paper bag o hindi istriktong naipatupad ang frisking system sa mga pumasok sa mall.

Iginiit ni Albayalde na dapat ipinabatid sa publiko ang nangyari, sa pamamagitan ng public address (PA) system, bago ipinatupad ang total lockdown.

“They should have a PA system to tell the people not to panic and that is part of the security protocol,” diin niya.
