NPA hanggang 2019 na lang —Digong

Sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte na dahil sa pagdami ng mga rebeldeng sumusuko sa pamahalaan, malaki ang posibilidad na ganap na mapulbos ng militar ang New People’s Army (NPA) bago matapos ang 2019.

Ito ang sinabi ng Pangulo ilang araw makaraang sabihin ni Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Founding Chairman Joma Sison na ang sunud-sunod na pagsuko ng mga rebelde ay hindi totoo at bahagi lamang ng propaganda ng administrasyong Duterte.

“The Duterte regime looks ridiculous and even funny by staging the fake surrenders of NPA fighters and their supporters,” ani Sison.

Sa kanyang talumpati sa Pampanga, nagpahayag ng pagasam si Pangulong Duterte na malapit nang masawata ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang banta ng NPA dahil na rin sa patuloy na pagkaunti ng mga miyembro at tagasuporta nito.

“So we are trying to really go out and just embrace them as brothers and at no other time, maraming armas. If they become decimated by the number of surrenderees, maybe the Armed Forces can finish them off next year at mawala na ‘to,” sabi ni Duterte.

Pinuri rin ng Presidente ang mga lokal na opisyal sa Mindanao at ang security forces sa aktibong paghimok sa mga rebelde na magbalik-loob sa pamahalaan.

“They can take whatever initiatives they want but… And the killing continues but at no other time are the NPAs surrendering with their firearms,” aniya. “So, mabuti na lang, marami na ang nag-surrender and… also, I’d like to congratulate the Armed Forces and everybody. ‘Yung mga mayors, pati pulis, they are active in convincing people.”

Gayunman, sa kabila ng maraming rebelde na ang sumuko sa pamahalaan, sinabi ng Pangulo na wala siyang balak na ipagpatuloy ang peace talks sa CPP.

“Not at this time. Maybe. Alongside with the mass surrenders is also the ferocity of those fighting,” sinabi ni Duterte sa mga mamamahayag sa Barangay Balo-i, Lanao del Norte dalawang linggo na ang nakalipas.

“Lumalaban pa rin sila, marami pa sila, eh. I am not satisfied by the numbers of surrenderees,” sabi ng Presidente. “The barometer is if they give up or—dalawa lang ‘yan. They give up or they’re all dead.”
