Digong ipinagtanggol ng China

Ito ang panawagan ng China sa international community, partikular na sa Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, na hinimok nitong “respect the sovereignty of the Philippines and the will of its people, view the outcomes of the Philippines’ fight against drug and terrorism in a comprehensive, unbiased and objective way, and support its efforts to move forward its human rights cause in light of its national conditions.”

Ito ang reaksiyon ng higante ng Asia sa pahayag ni UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein na kailangang sumailalim ni Duterte sa “psychiatric examination” makaraang isama ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas si UN special rapporteur Agnes Callamard sa listahan ng 600 indibidwal na nais ideklarang “terrorists”.

Dinepensahan ang Filipino leader, sinabi ng Chinese Foreign Ministry na ang sinumang walang pagkiling ay tiyak na makikita ang mga nagawang “positive efforts” ni Duterte para labanan ang mga krimeng may kaugnayan sa droga at terorismo, maisulong ang ekonomiya ng bansa, mapabuti ang kabuhayan ng mamamayan.

“The achievements made by the Philippine government led by President Duterte on these fronts have won great approval and extensive support among the Philippine people,” ipinunto ng Chinese foreign ministry sa kanilang pahayag.

Iginiit pa nito na bilang isang ahensiya ng UN, ang Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights ay inaasahang tutuparin ang mga trabaho nito “within the framework set out by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.”
