Digong biyaheng PH Rise

Plano ni Pangulong Duterte na bumisita sa Philippine Rise, o Benham Rise, sa susunod na linggo upang iginiit ang pagmamay-ari ng Pilipinas sa nasabing malawak na undersea region.

Inihayag ng Presidente ang planong magtungo sa Philippine Rise kasabay ng pagsasabing handa siyang makipaglaban sa sinumang dayuhang bansa na magtatangkang angkinin ang nasabing teritoryo ng Pilipinas.

“Next week, I’m going to sail, set sail, I’m going to Benham Rise and I will make a statement there that nobody but nobody owns this place including the continental shelf, the underground land mass that extends under the sea,” sinabi ni Duterte sa harap ng ng mga kasapi ng Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines sa Davao City nitong Huwebes.

“And if it extends to San Francisco Bay, San Francisco Bay is a property of the Republic of the Philippines,” ani Duterte.

Una nang ipinagbawala ng dayuhang marine research sa Philippine Rise, sinabi ng Pangulo na handa siyang ipagtanggol ito sa mga nagnanais na umangkin dito.

“When the issue of Benham Rise, Philippine Rise, there were so many ships there doing explorations, and when this crucial question was asked of me ‘What will do you if they also claim it?’ and I said, ‘I will go to war.’ And I will go to war, believe me,” anang Presidente.

Iginiit kamakailan ng Malacañang na ang Philippine Rise ay iginawad sa Pilipinas ng United Nations Commission on the Extended Continental Shelf, matapos na pangalanan ng China ang limang undersea features ng rehiyon kasunod ng isang maritime survey.

Gayunman, hindi kinilala ng Pilipinas ang mga pangalang ibinigay ng China sa Philippine Rise.
