Fixes salary, insurance para sa barangay officials

Iminungkahi ng isang magkapatid na kongresista na magkaroon ng permanenteng suweldo, allowance, insurance at iba pang benepisyo ang mga opisyal ng barangay.

Sa kanilang panukalang batas (House Bill 7393), hiniling nina Davao City Rep. Karlo Alexei Nograles at PBA Party-list Rep. Jericho Jonas Nograles, sa Kongreso na gumawa ng Magna Carta para sa mga barangay upang maitaguyod at mapaunlad pa ang kapakanan ng mga residente, gayundin ang “economic at social status” ng mga barangay official.

Kabilang din sa mungkahi ng mga ito ang pagkakaroon ng medical coverage at retirement benefits ng mga opisyal ng barangay.

“This proposed measure intends to help barangays perform their mandate of delivering basic services and facilities to their respective communities in the most efficient, responsive and sustainable manner, “anang dalawang kongresista.

Isinusulong din ng mga ito na kilalanin bilang mga regular employee ang mga opisyal ng barangay official, na mayroon ding fixed salary.

“This measure proposes to promote the welfare of the barangays by providing the barangays the appropriate basic services and facilities such as regular supply of clean and potable water, public transportation, schools, health centers and barangay halls in order to meet the requirements of the local populace, “ayon magkapatid na mambabatas.
