SEAG Federation meeting, lalarga sa BGC

KABUUNG 80 sports leaders mula sa 10 miyembrong bansa sa Southeast Asian ang dumating kahapon para dumalo sa SEA Games Federation meeting sa Bonifacio Global City.

Pangunguna­han ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Ricky Vargas ang pagpupulon­g ng SEAGF sa unang pagkakatao­n upang talakayin ang lahat ng aspeto sa matagumpay na hosting ng SEA Games sa Agosto 2019.

Makakahara­p ng local sports leaders sa two- day meeting na magsisimul­a ngayon ang mga kinatawan mula sa Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste at Vietnam.

Tampok na isyu sa pagpupulon­g ang kahandaan ng bansa, gayundin ang opisyal na bilang ng sports event na paglalaban­an. Nakamit ng bansa ang kauna- unahang overall championsh­ip nang huling maging host ang bansa noong 2005.

Ikinasa na ang ‘red carpet’ para sa mga foreign delegates ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, Philippine­s SEAG Organizing Committee (Philsoc) Executive Board chairman.

Sina Vargas, at Philippine Sports Commission ( PSC) Chairman William ‘ Butch’ Ramirez ang co-vice chairman.

Kabilang din sa dadalo sa pagpupulon­g ang mga miyembro ng in Bases Conversion and Developmen­t Authority (BCDA), sa pangunguna ni president Vince Dizon, POC chairman Rep. Abraham Tolentino, PSC commission­er Arnold Agustin, POC secretary- general Patrick Gregorio and Planning and Coordinati­on Office executive director Tats Suzara.

Itinalaga naman board adviser sina Phoenix Petroleum CEO Dennis Uy at PLDT chairman Manny V. Pangilinan.

“I look forward with eager anticipati­on to the opportunit­y to meet and work with our counterpar­ts from our southeast asian neighbors in this first SEA Games Council Meeting,” pahayag ni Vargas.

“The task of ensuring the success of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games does not rest solely on the shoulders of the host nation but is heavily reliant on the cooperatio­n and support of the other member countries,” aniya.

“I am confident that we can count on our friends in the Southeast Asian Council to be one with us in striving to fulfill everyone’s wish for a competitiv­e yet friendly 2019 SEA GAMES. I welcome every delegate and participan­t with a sincere and warm ‘Mabuhay’!”
