Ancajas, lyamado kay Sultan, isusunod si Yafai?
HANDA na si IBF super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas sa ikalimang depensa ng kanyang titulo laban sa kababayan at mandatory No. 1 contender Jonas Sultan sa Sabado (Linggo sa Manila) sa Save Mart Arena, Fresno, California sa United States.
Bahagyang paborito ng mga eksperto at oddsmakers si Ancajas laban sa kapos sa karanasang si Sultan, ngunit walang dahilan para magkumpiyansa ang kampeon para sa kauna-unahang All-Filipino world title bout sa nakalipas na 75 taon.
“My goal is to entertain the crowd. For my fans, the Filipino community here, I’m looking forward to this fight. I’m proud that my dream has come true. All of my sacrifices paid off,” pahayag ni Ancajas sa panayam ng Fightnews.com.
“Sultan is hungry for a world title fight, to prove he is the best. I am confident, but not overconfident, because he’s also Filipino,” aniya.
“We are expecting a good fight for the fans. There are many great fighters in the Philippines, and I am happy that Jonas and myself can share this big stage. We are making history, and I am glad that we can fight to see who is the best.”
Nakatakda ring magdepensa sa undercard ang walang talong si WBA super flyweight titlist Khalid Yafai na magdedepensa naman kay Mexican David Carmona.
Inaasahang kapwa magwawagi sina Ancajas at Yafai para magharap sila sa nilulutong unification bout ni Top Rank big boss Bob Arum.
“A unification could be next, but all I’m thinking about is this fight, looking good and getting the win. Then, afterwards, we will sit down with the team and see what is next,” sabi ni Yafai. “I will fight anyone and I want to establish myself as the man in the division. When any of these guys (champions) get offered to me, I will be more than ready and happy to take them out, one after another.”
