Inspection sa locker room? Problema yan!

Tinutulan ng ng isang obispo ng Simbahang Katoliko ang panukalang random inspection ng mga locker room at bag sa mga eskuwelahan.

Sa halip mas nais ni Nueva Ecija Bishop Roberto Mallari na ipabatid sa kaalaman ng mga estudyante ang problema sa ilegal na droga at masamang epekto nito.

Nauna rito ay inirekomenda ni National Capital Region Police Office Director Guillermo Eleazar ang pagsasagawa ng surprised inspections sa mga eskuwelahan bilang paraan para mailayo ang kabataan sa ilegal na droga.

“I have a problem with this!” sinabi ni Mallari sa isang panayam.

“I think that we should even give our students more information about this problem so that they become part in the effort to eradicate this,” dugtong niya.

Naniniwala ang pinuno ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on Catechesis and Catholic Education na ang pagiging proactive ang makatutulong para maresolba ang problema sa droga.

“After seeing the vast problem of drugs in the country we have to be more proactive in solving this problem,” ani Mallari.

Maging ang pinuno ng Department of Education ay kontra rin sa ideya.

“I would have some reservations. It has to be strongly justified because the very idea of inspecting the properties of our learners and our teachers already is an admission that there is a suspicion. And there are ways, others ways of finding out,” ani DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones sa isang panayam sa telebisyon.
