Paa ni Digong, huhugasan ng church group

Napaulat na nag-alok ang Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) na huhugasan ang paa ni Pangulong Duterte sa ritwal ng pagpapakumbaba at paglilingkod sa kapwa.

Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque na nagpahayag ng kahandaan ang mga evangelical leader na sa pamamagitan ng nasabing ritwal ay tulungang maghilom ang Pangulo sa pang-aabusong naranasan nito sa kamay ng isang pari noong bata pa.

“Although it is not the PCEC itself that was responsible for this form of abuse, nonetheless as Christians they felt that perhaps if they do that which is an act of humility, the President will understand that even if they’re not church that did him the harm, there is still the church that would want to acknowledge that a harm was done,” sinabi ni Roque sa panayam sa kanya ng CNN Philippines. “Perhaps that would help in the healing process.”

Ayon kay Roque, pumayag si Duterte na makaharap ang mga opisyal ng PCEC sa Malacañang, bagamat hindi pa naisapinal ang petsa nito.

Aniya, hindi pa alam ni Duterte ang tungkol sa nasabing alok ng PCEC, pero “I’m sure he will appreciate it.”

Ang ritwal ng paghuhugas ng paa ay sinimulan ni Hesus nang hugasan at halikan niya ang paa ng 12 niyang apostol sa Huling Hapunan.

Ang alok ng PCEC ay sa gitna ng kontrobersiyang nalikha sa pagkuwestiyon ni Duterte sa mga turong Simbahang Katoliko at sa pagtawag niya sa Diyos ng “stupid”.

Nitong Lunes, iginiit pa ni Duterte na “only heaven is true” at hindi totoong may impiyerno at purgatoryo.

“My God does not have heaven nor hell. My God is not foolish unlike the other gods who would create a hell. Why would you create a hell for me when… What is my sin? Womanizing?” sinabi ng Pangulo nang bumisita sa Maasin, Leyte nitong Lunes. “God is all forgiving. He does not know how to put you in hell. That’s not true.”

Hinikayat rin niya ang mga dumalo na huwag maniwala sa itinuturo ng Simbahan, at sa halip ay sumali na lang sa kanyang “Iglesia ni Duterte”.

“Seriously. Don’t believe them. Believe in this, the Iglesia ni Duterte. It’s the new religion now,” anang Presidente.
