Matthysse at Golden Boy Promotions, bayad na sa laban

TINANGGAP na ng Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) at ni WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse ang kanilang bayad kaya tuloy na ang laban kay Pinoy boxer Manny Pacquiao sa Hulyo 15 sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“We have a fight, everything’s great, everything’s perfect,” sabi ni GBP president Eric Gomez sa Boxingscene.com. “They’re flying out tomorrow, we’re looking forward to it. Lucas is ready and he’s ready to defend his title against a legend.”

Pinaugong sa media ni Top Rank big boss Bob Arum na hindi matutuloy ang laban nina Pacquiao at Matthysse sanhi ng kakulangan ng pondo sa promosyon.

“The fights on - that’s the important thing - Lucas is very happy. It’s a dream for him to fight against Pacquiao,” dagdag ni Gomez. “There were a few bumps in the lead up to the fight but everything’s been cleared up and we’re happy that the fights on and it’s going to happen. It’s going to be a great fight.”

“As far as I am concerned, the fight will take place as scheduled. It’s an effort to make boxing fans happy. It will be the most exciting boxing show seen in Malaysia since Muhammad Ali fought Joe Bugner in Malaysia in 1975,” sabi ni Pacquiao kaugnay ng “Battle of Champions” card.

Inihayag naman ng WBA ang ring officials ng laban nina Pacquiao at Matthysse sa pangungunan ni referee Luis Pabon ng Puerto Rico.

Magsisilbing mga hurado ng laban ang beteranong si Stanley Christodoulou ng South Africa, Jean Robert Laine ng Monaco at Nelson Vazquez ng Puerto Rico.
