67% AYAW SA FEDERALISM

Target ng pamahalaan na paigtingin ang kampanya sa pagbibigay impormasyon sa publiko tungkol sa pederalismo matapos lumabas sa survey na malaking bahagdan ng mga Pilipino ang hindi pabor na amyendahan ang umiiral na 1987 Constitution.

Aminado si Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque na marami pa ang kailangang gawin upang maisulong ang kaalaman ng publiko hinggil sa panukalang pagpapalit sa sistemang federal, lalo dahil kakaunti lang ang alam ng publiko tungkol dito.

“The Palace takes note of the results of the latest Pulse Asia survey on Charter change and Federalism showing 18% of respondents agreed that the Constitution should be amended now and 28% of respondents in favor of changing the system of government in the country to federalism,” paliwanag ni Roque.

“There is clearly much work to be done in terms of spreading awareness and knowledge on the aforementioned issue. We will therefore exert even more effort to inform and educate our citizens about federalism since the approval of the proposed changes in our current Charter ultimately lies in the hands of the Filipino people,” dagdag pa ni Roque.

Sa resulta ng Pulse Asia survey, lumalabas na 67 porsiyento ng mga respondents ang hindi sang-ayon sa pagpapalit sa federalismo, 28% ang pabor, at 10% ang walang tugon.

Kasabay ng pagbanggit sa pangangailangan ng pinaigting na information drive, ipinunto ni Roque na 55% sa mga tumugon ang nakarinig, nabasa, o napanood na sang tungkol sa mungkahing pagpapalit ng Konstitusyon bago isagawa ang pagaaral. Habang 69% ang aminadong kaunti lamang ang nalalaman sa sistemang federal.

“For this reason, we cannot expect our people to support an initiative, which they know only little about,” ani Roque.
