Destiny’s Child singer, pumasok sa mental health facility
NAG-POST si Michelle Williams sa kanyang Instagram nitong Martes tungkol sa mental health at kung kailan kailangan na humingi ng tulong, ilang oras lamang ang makalipas makaraang iulat ng TMZ na pumasok ang Destiny’s Child singer sa isang mental health facility, ulat ng Yahoo Entertainment.
Ayon sa source ng TMZ, isinasailalim si Williams sa gamutan ng depresyon sa pasilidad.
Bukas sa publiko ang 37 taong gulang na singer tungkol sa kanyang pakikipaglaban sa depresyon sa mga nakalipas na taon, at ibinunyag din niya sa The Talk noong Oktubre 18, 2017, na minsan na niyang tinangkang magpakamatay.
“I think at the age of 25, had I had a name to what I was feeling at the time, I would have disclosed that ‘I’ve been suffering from depression,’” pahayag ni Williams sa talk show. “I didn’t know until I was in my 30s what was going on. … I’ve been suffering since the age of between 13 and 15. … I didn’t know what to call it.”
Sinabi rin niyang nang mga panahong iyon ay inamin niya ito sa manager ng Destiny’s Child na si Matthew Knowles. Tumugon daw ito, ayon kay Williams ng, “Ya’ll just signed a multimillion-dollar deal, you’re about to go on tour, what do you have to be depressed about?”
Aniya, “It got really, really bad … to the point of I was suicidal. I was to that place where it got so dark and heavy.”
Sa isang pahayag na ibinahagi ni Williams nitong Martes, lahad niya, “For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing. …
“Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need.”
