NAKAPAGTALA ng magkasunod na tagumpay si Filipino whiz kid Jayson Jacobo Tiburcio sa dalawang international chess competition.
Nakamit ng Primary 4 pupil ng Fernvale Primary School sa Singapore ang Silver Medal sa 12th Nanyang Chess Challenge (Rapid format) Upper Primary Division nitong Sabado ( Hulyo 21, 2018) na ginanap sa Nanyang Primary School sa Singapore.
“He was also the only recipient of the Special Award on Fairplay in the Upper Primary Boy’s Category. This award was given to the player who demonstrated good behavior and sportsmanship in the entire tournament.” ayon sa very supportive na ina na si Mary Jane “MaJane” Jacobo Tiburcio.
Karagdagan sa 2nd place finish nitong Sabado (Hulyo 21, 2018) ay nakaipon si Jayson ng 6.5 points sa 7 games of play para tanghaling over-all champion sa July edition ng Asean Chess Academy (ACA) Rapid Chess Tournament na ginanap sa Bukit Timah Shopping Centre sa Singapore.

Kasunod ng successful conquest sa recent event sa Singapore matapos manaig ng silver at gold medal nitong weekend, si Jayson ay nakatutok sa paglahok sa 30th National Rapid Chess Championships 2018 - Challengers sa Agosto 11 at 12 ,2018 sa Singapore at 15th Malaysia International Chess Festival sa Agosto 17 hanggang 27, 2018 sa Cititel Midvalley Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
