Demecillo vs Haskins sa ‘Pinas

LUMAKI ang pagkakataon ni IBF No. 5 bantamweight Kenny Demecillo na makaharap si IBF No. 4 ranked at dating IBF bantamweight champion Lee Haskins ng United Kingdom para sa eliminator bout para sa No. 1 ranking at pagkakataon sa world title bout.

Natiyak ito nang magwagi sa purse bid ng IBF ang MP Promotions na nangangasiwa sa karera ni Demecillo kaya malamang na sa Pilipinas gawin ang sagupaan nila ni Haskins.

“A purse bid procedure was held in IBF Headquarters today to determine who will promote the IBF bantamweight eliminator fight for #1,” ayon sa ulat ng Fightnews.com.

“There were two bidders, West Country Boxing and MP Promotions. MP Promotions bid $26,000 and West Country Boxing bid $11,100. MP Promotions won the Purse Bid and they have 90 days to put the fight on,” dagdag sa ulat.

Huling lumaban si Haskins noong Disyembre 15, 2015 sa Merthyr Tydfil sa United Kingdom kung saan tinalo niya sa 10-round unanimous decision si dating Ghanaian flyweight champion Isaac Quaye.

Ginulat naman ni Demecillo ang buong mundo nang patulugin niya sa 5th round si dating undefeated WBC International Silver bantamweight champion Vyacheslav Mirzaev sa teritoryo nitong Anapa, Russia para pumasok sa world rankings.

May rekord ang 26-anyos na si Demecillo na 14-4-2 win-loss-draw na may 8 panalo sa knockouts kumpara sa 35-anyos na si Haskins na may 35 panalo, 4 talo na may 14 pagwawagi sa knockouts.
