Pinoy pupils, wagi ng 32 medalya sa Math, Science Olympiad

Nasungkit ng mga Pilipinong magaaral ang 32 medalya sa 15th Internatio­nal Mathematic­s and Science Olympiad for Primary School Students (IMSO) na ginanap sa Zhejiang, China mula Setyembre 28 hanggang Oktubre 4.

Ayon sa Mathematic­s Trainers GuildPhili­ppines (MTG), nakuha ng mga batang math wizards ang 2 gold, 15 silver at 15 bronze medals sa paligsahan na sinalihan ng halos 400 kalahok mula sa 21 bansa at rehiyon.

“We are so happy that all the contestant­s from the Philippine­s took home medals. We congratula­te these students for their hard work,” wika ni MTG president at team leader Dr. Isidro Aguilar.

Sa Math division, nanalo ng gold si Mohammad Nur Casib, Grade 6 student ng My Precious Child Learning Center sa Marawi City.

Silver medals naman ang iniuwi nina Kody Briones, Emmanuel Christian School; Maria Bernadette Landicho, Stonyhurst Southville Internatio­nal School-Batangas; Patric Xamwell Legaspi, Vel Maris School; Tracy Lauren Lei, Saint Jude Catholic School; at Michael Gerard Tongson, Stonyhurst Southville Internatio­nal School-Malarayat.

Bronze medallists sina Miguel Cayetano, Tuguegarao West Central School; Sophie Jill Co, PACE Academy; Ian Gabriel Hong, PACE Academy; Jehan Dave Martinez, Butuan City SPED Center; Periel Matthew Panganiban, Ateneo de Naga University-Grade School; Charles Patrick Salome, St. Francis of Assisi College; Adrian Guanson Soriaga, St. Jude Catholic School; at Anika Gayle Tan, Zamboanga Chong Hua High School.

Sa Science division, ang gold medalist ng bansa ay si Ervin Joshua Bautista of Southville Internatio­nal School and Colleges.
