R198-M para sa Chocolate Hills view deck, facilities rehab
KAILANGAN ng Bohol ng nasa P198 milyon upang maibalik ang viewing deck at iba pang pasilidad sa Chocolate Hills complex sa bayan ng Carmen. Sa resolusyon ng Provincial Development Council’s (PDC) Executive Committee, ang pagkukumpuni at restorasyon ay kinakailangang isagawa sa Chocolate Hills viewing deck at iba pang istruktura nito na nasira sanhi ng 7.2-magnitude earthquake noong Oktubre 15, 2013.
“The provincial government considers the Chocolate Hills as the most visited and iconic tourism spot in the province; hence, rehabilitating its facilities, which is essential to improve the signature landmark of Bohol in conformity with international standards, will further boost the local economy and sustain the tourism industry in Bohol, the region and the Philippines as a whole,” ayon sa PDC Executive Committee.
Sa taya ng PDC, ang proyekto gagastusan ng kabuuang P197.931 milyon, upang maipagawa ang mga daanan, garahe at linya ng tubig, trellis works, at hagdanan, ramps, viewing deck, food court, at museum and activity center kabilang ang mga paintings, poste, signages at landscaping works.
Kaugnay ng nasabing proposal, inaprubahan ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan ang resolusyon na susuporta sa kahilingan ng PDC Executive Committee na tulong pinansiyal mula sa Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) para sa New Chocolate Hills Complex Construction Project sa Carmen.
Kumilos si Provincial Board Member Alexie Tutor, na namamahala sa SP Committee on Tourism, para maaprubahan ang resolusyon nang isagawa ang regular na sesyon, habang si SP Member Venzencio Arcamo, Tourism Committee vice-chair, ay sumang-ayon sa mosyon at resolusyon at inaprubahan.
Hiniling ng PDC sa TIEZA na magkaloob ng pondo para sa proyekto dahil napag-utusan ang ahensiya na paunlarin at pamahalaan ang tourism infrastructure projects sa buong bansa, na nakapaloob sa Republic Act 9593, o ang Tourism Act of 2009.
Layunin ng proyekto na “provide tourists and visitors of Bohol, particularly at the Chocolate Hills Complex, with a facility that meets generally-accepted tourism industry standards.”
