“I’m happy to be back, really tired from traveling and jetlag. It’s been really good, lots of tough competition. I’m really happy to bring home a medal for the Philippines,” pahayag ni Tio.

Iginiit ni Tio na hindi niya hinayaan na mabalisa sa paghahangad namanalo bagkus naglaro siya para mapatunayan ang kahandaan sa mga karibal.

“I really tried not to pressure myself during the event. I just enjoyed it no matter what happens. You just go there and enjoy,” pahayag ng 17-anyos.

Tunay na estrangheros sa maraming Pinoy ang skateboarding kung kaya’t ginugol niya ang panahon sa pagsasanay sa labas ng bansa. Ilang araw din ang inilagi niya sa Aregentina bago ang Youth Games para sanayin ang sarili sa kapaligiran at kondisyon ng panahon.

“We had training all over. We went to Italy to compete and also train. We also went to the Dominican Republic to get used to the time zone and train there. And also spent about two weeks in Argentina to get used to the spot and everything,” aniya.

Sa kasalukuyan, nais niyang mag-enjoy kasama ang mga kaanak at maihanda ang sarili sa pagbisita kay Pangulong Duterte sa Nobyembre 6 sa Malacanang para tanggapin ang insentibo.

“Right now, there is nothing for me. I just want to relax. At the end of the year, we’ll see what event comes up,” aniya.

Batay sa RA 10699 (Athletes Incentives Act) ang silver medal winner sa Youth Olympics ay tatanggap ng P2.5 milyon mula sa pamahalaan.

“Just to save it for something in the future,” pahayag ni Tio.
