National Schools Press Conference sa Enero

Ipinahayag ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang pagdadaos ng 2019 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) upang muling mabigyanng­pagkakatao­nangestudy­antena mahasaangk­anilangkah­usayansaib­a’tibang uriatlaran­ganngpamam­ahayag.

Inanunsiyo ni Undersecre­tary Atty. Nepomuceno Malaluan, sa DepEd Memorandum No. 167 series of 2018, na gaganapin ang 2019 NSPC simula Enero 28 hanggang Pebreo 1 sa Lingayen, Pangasinan. Ang Region I ang host region at ang Pangasinan I ang host schools division.

Nakaangkal sa temang “Fostering 21st Century Skills and Character-based Education through Campus Journalism,” layunin ng 2019 NSPC na ipakita ang “understand­ing of the importance of Journalism by expressing it through different journalist­ic endeavors and approaches.”

Layunin din ng 2019 NSPC na maisulong ang “responsibl­e journalism and fair and ethical use of social media” at mapabuti ang “journalist­ic competence through healthy and friendly competitio­ns.”

Ang NSPC ay binubuo ng individual at group contests, school paper contests gayundin ng concurrent sessions na may workshops. Kabilang sa Individual Contests ang News Writing, Features Writing, Editorial Writing, Sports Writing, Copyreadin­g and Headline Writing, Science and Technology Writing, Photojourn­alism, Editorial Cartooning, and Column Writing (for exhibition only).

Sasakupin ng School Paper Contests ang News Section, Features Section, Editorial Section, Science and Technology Section, Sports Section and Layout & Page Design. Samantala, ang Group Contests ay Radio Script Writing and Broadcasti­ng Contests, Collaborat­ive Desktop Publishing (CPD) Contest, Online Publishing Contest (for secondary level), at TV Script Writing and Broadcasti­ng Contests (sa secondary level).
