Peace talks sa MNLF, itutuloy

Binabalak ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na muling ipagpatuloy ang peace talks kay Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chair Nur Misuari sa oras na maratipikahan ang Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) sa plebisito sa susunod na taon.

Sa pagbisita niya kamakailan sa Cagayan de Oro, sinabi ng Pangulo na umaasa siya na mananalo ang botong “yes” sa Bangsamoro plebiscite upang maharap na niya si Misuari.

Muling binigyang-diin ni Duterte ang kahandaan niyang magkaroon ng kapayapaan sa Mindanao, kinilala ang hiwalay na mga rebelyon na isinagawa ng grupo ni Misuari at ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

“We have a strife going on. There are two revolutions and that is the MI and MN. Now, we are trying really to forge peace with you. As --- MI, I hope the plebiscite would push through and for the yes votes to win so that I can deal again with the… And then Misuari, we will talk but we will no longer join that. When the time comes, let us talk,” ani Duterte.

“I pray that the BOL will push through. Inshallah. And after that I will deal with Misuari,” idinugtong niya.

Kamakailan ay nakipagpulong ang matataas na opisyal ng MNLF kay Presidential Peace Adviser Jesus Dureza sa Davao City upang ipangako ang kanilang buong suporta sa BOL sa pamamagitan ng implementasyon ng strategic information, education and communications (IEC) campaign sa kaniang mga komunidad.

“The MNLF is committed to help the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte by supporting the BOL and campaigning for (its ratification in) the plebiscite,” sinabi ni MNLF Central Committee Chair Yusoph Jikiri kay Dureza sa kanilang pagpupulong.

Bilang tugon, kinilala ni Dureza ang matatag na pangako ng MNLF na tumulong sa pambansang pamahalaan sa paglilikha ng mas malawak na antas ng public awareness sa makasaysayang hakbang.

“I am very pleased with the MNLF’s determined efforts to help the Duterte administration in generating a groundswell of support for BBL and ensure its ratification,” aniya.

Napagkasunduan sa pagpupulong na ang MNLF, katuwang ang Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), ay magbabalangkas at magpapatupad ng multistakeholder IEC campaign sa mga lugar na sakop ng kanilang organisasyon.
