Direk Erik, inokray ang ‘CRA’

ISA si Janno Gibbs sa mga kumontra sa post ni Direk Erik Matti tungkol sa pang-ookray nito sa all-Asian cast Hollywood movie na Crazy Rich Asians.

“No matter how successful this #CrazyRichAsian movie is, it’s still just a piece of old school 90’s style TV movie. Caricature acting, white man’s view on Asians, cliché insights wrapped in flashy modern parties, tita sensibilities, bad direction. This is no Pretty Woman! Far from it.

“But who can argue with success? That’s why everyone here I think wants to make a version of this here. #kumitakayamagandanayan.”

Comment ni Janno: “Nagandahan naman ako @erikmatti Sori.”

Sayang at hindi sinagot ni Direk Erik ang komento ni Janno, para malaman din ang reaksiyon ng direktor na marami talaga ang nakagusto at nagandahan sa Crazy Rich Asians, kung saan may cameo role si Kris Aquino.

May comment din si John Arcilla: “I have not watch it yet Direk. Americans daw are laughing with the idea. When I saw the trailer it’s just the typical plot naman of a Cinderella story, ‘di ba? Kaya parang feeling ko nga cliche’...’ yun lang... my two cents.”

Ang daming nag-react sa nasabing post ni Direk Erik. Isa sa mga nabasa namin ang umokray din sa huling matagumpay na pelikula ng direktor, ang Buy Bust ni Anne Curtis bilang reaksiyon sa post niya.

“I don’t doubt your credibility. But Buy Bust is just as cliché. Your hashtag applies.”
