Maliliit na negosyo, food security isusulong ni Digong

Ang pagpapalak­as sa micro, small and medium enterprise­s (MSMEs) at pagtitiyak ng food security ay bahagi ng priority agenda ni Pangulong Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte sa idadaos na regional summit sa Papua New Guinea.

Dadalo ang Pangulo sa Asia Pacific Economic Cooperatio­n (APEC) economic leaders’ summit sa Port Moresby sa Nobyembre 17 at 18.

Bago makasama ang 20 pang lider sa Asia Pacific para sa summit talks, makikilaho­k muna si Duterte sa Associatio­n of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit sa Singapore sa Nobyembre 13 hanggang 15. Kahapon, umalis si Duterte kasama ng ilang miyembro ng Gabinete para sa kanyang two-nation trip.

“As one of the best performing economies and the fastest growing region the world, the Philippine­s has much to contribute as well as much to gain from a fruitful discussion with our neighbors, friends and allies in APEC,” sinabi ni Foreign Affairs Undersecre­tary Ernesto Abella sa press briefing sa Palasyo.

“The President conveys his support for mechanisms that will enable our MSMEs or MSMEs as they call it to take advantage of digital and online platforms to benefit their enterprise­s and to bring their products and services overseas,” aniya.

Sinabi niya na sinusuport­ahan din ng Pangulo ang pagsisikap ng rehiyon na makabuo ng bago at inclusive post-2020 vision para sa APEC. “He calls attention to our efforts that ensuring food security for our people and advancing economic opportunit­ies for women,” dugtong niya.

Habang nasa Papua New Guinea, inaasahang nakikipulo­ng ang Pangulo sa business leaders sa rehiyon gayundin sa 40,000 Pilipino roon.

“At the forum, the President will join a dialogue before prominent business leaders during the summit of chief executive officers of the APEC Business Advisory Council or ABAC and meet with leaders of the Pacific Islands Forum,” ani Abella.
