46th PCSO Presidential Gold Cup, hahataw sa San Lazaro

HOST ang Manila Jockey Club, Inc., premyadong horse racing club sa bansa at isa sa pinakamatandang organisasyon sa Asya, sa ilalargang 46th PCSO Presidential Gold Cup sa Disyembre 9.

Bilang pinakaprestihiyoso sa local racing calendar – kung saan nakataya ang pamosong Gold Cup title – ang torneo ang isa sa pinakaaabangan ng bayang karerista.

Nilagdaan ang Memorandum of Agreement sa isang makasaysayang seremonya kamakailan sa pagitan ng mga opisyal ng MJC, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office at Philippine Racing Commission sa Manila Golf and Country Club sa Makati City.

“I am very proud to announce that the Presidential Gold Cup is coming home to San Lazaro Leisure Park! We are honored to be a partner of PCSO in this very noble and historical event in the local horse racing calendar,” pahayag ni Atty. Alfonso G. Reyno III, President and CEO ng MJC.

Mula nang itatag noong 1934, masugid na tagasuporta ng industriya ng karera ang PCSO. Bukod sa Gold Cup, apat na karera sa bawat taon ang inilalarga ng ahensya para suportahan ang horceracing industry at ang mga programa para sa kawang-gawa.

This race has gained tremendous prestige, which has become the definitive championship for elite local-bred horses,” sambit ni Ret. Gen. Alexander Balutan, General Manager ng PCSO.

Magtutuos para sa kabuuang P5 milyon premyo ang mga locally-bred na kabayo kaakibat abg cash incentives para sa mananalong breeder.

Kabilang sa sasagupa sa Gold Cup ang Ka/CS Pare Jr. by Aurelio P. De Leon; Electric Truth/MA Alvarez by Leonardo M. Javier Jr.; Highway One/ VR Dilema by Cool Summer Farm; Dixie Gold/OP Cortez by Joseph C. Dyhengco; Radioactive/KB Abobo and Sepfourteen/JA Guce by SC Stockfarm Inc.; Salt and Pepper/JB Hernandez by Herminio S. Esguerra; at Pangalusian Island/JPa Guce ni Wilbert T. Tan.

Nagsimula ang paglatag ng Presidential Gold Cup ng PCSO sa liderato ng namayapang Chairman and General Manager Nereo C. Andong. Mula noon, naging popular ang event sa bayang karerista matapos tanghaling unang kampeon ang Sun God ni Don Pedro Cojuangco sa inaugural race noong 1973.
