Pagpapatuloy ng peace talks, OK sa House panel
Inendorso ng House Special Committee on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity ang adoption ng resolusyon na humihikayat kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na buhayin ang usapang pangkapayapaan sa pagitan ng National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP).
Sa pamumuno ni Tawi-tawi Rep. Ruby Sahali, nais ng House panel na tiyakin ni Duterte ang kumpletong comprehensive agreements sa social, economic at political reforms na magsisilbing pundasyon ng “just and lasting peace.”
Ang hindi pa napapangalanang resolusyon, na isinulat ni Sahali, ay nabuo sa kasagsagan ng pagbibitiw ni Secretary Jesus Dureza bilang presidential adviser on the peace process.
Sa kanyang talumpati sa committee hearing kamakailan, sinabi ni Sahali ang pagbibitiw ni Dureza, sinabing siya ay duty-bound para ipahayag ang sentimiyento ng mga taong nagnanais na ituloy ang peace talks.
Ito ay co-authored nina Reps. Carlos Isagani Zarate (Bayan Muna); Teddy Brawner Baguilat, Jr. (LP, Ifugao); Leopoldo Bataoil (NP, Pangasinan); Bayani Fernando (PDP-Laban, Marikina-City); Anthony Bravo (Coop-Natcco); Arlene Brosas (Gabriela Parylist); Ariel Casilao (Anakpawis); Emmanuel Billones (LP, Capiz); Eleonor Bulut-Begtang (LP, Apayao); Sabiniano Canama (Coop Natcco); at Lorna Bautista-Bandigan (NUP, Davao Occidental).
“We can start by maintaining effective communication exchanges that strike at the very root of these peace negotiations,” pahayag ni Sahali.
