ITrack, solusyon sa problema ng BOC

TULOY ang laban ng Bureau of Customs para labanan ang katiwalian sa ahensiya.

Matapos ang inilargang 1-Assessment, inilunsad ng BOC ang makabagong programa sa araw-araw na operasyon ng ahensiya – ang iTrack.

Ang iTrack ay isang geographic information system na maikakabit sa Global Positioning System (GPS) technology para makapagbibigay sa BOC nang mata para masundan ang mga track containers na dumarating at lumabas sa mga warehouse.

Masusundan ng iTrack system ang customs transit operations maging containerized o non-containerized cargo, maging ibiniyahe sa kalupaan, karagatan at himpapawid. Mapapalakas nito ang kakayahan ng BOC na masiguradong ligtas at nasa maayos ang mga kargamento na dumarating at lumalabas sa ahensiya.

Sa pamamagitan ng GPS siguradong masusundan ang mga containers hanggang saa makarating sa kanilang patutunguhan.

“The iTrack system is intended to directly address the problem of swinging or diversion of transit cargo, since unauthorized stops, route deviations, or tampering with the seal in order to open the container will automatically be detected by the system in real time and trigger alarms that will alert the enforcement personnel of the bureau to potenial criminal activities,” pahayag ni Customs Deputy Commissioner Jeffrey Dy, hepe ng Management Information System and Technology Group (MISTG) ng BOC.

Aniya, ang paggamit ng iTrack system ay magpapataas sa antas ng compliance ng BOC sa RKC, SAFE Framework at iba pang international agreements na nakatuon sa supply chain security.

Sa pilot implementation ng iTrack system, nabigyan ang BOC ng access para matukoy ang mga ruta na ginagamit at dinadaanan ng mga haulers/truckers/transport/ logistic providers at nabigyan ang BOC ng kasiguraduhan na hindi sa ilegal nagawain ginami ang naturang mga containers.

“The iTrack system is a modern technological innovation that will definitely address the problems of the BOC with regards to security and monitoring of transit cargo. Through the iTrack system, smuggling by pilferage due to “swinging” or diverting of transit cargo will be eliminated, and real time monitoring with regards to location will be enabled. We areconfident that the iTrack system will ensure that trade corridors are secure and cargo transported between bonded ports and zones are released from origin and arrive at the destination untampered,” sambit ni Dy.
