Bicol Police, full alert kontra NPA

CAMP OLA, Albay – Naka-full alert status ang Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) matapos ang serye ng pag-atake ng pinaniniwa­laang New People’s Army (NPA) sa ilang puwesto ng pulis at militar sa Bicol, nitong Lunes ng gabi.

Ayon kay Chief Insp. Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokespers­on, epektibo simula 11:00 ng gabi nitong Lunes, Disyembre 17, ang lahat ng unit ng PNP ay naka- full alert status kasunod ng pag-atake ng hinihinala­ng mga NPA sa Magallanes Municipal Police Station (MPS) sa Magallanes, Sorsogon, dakong 7:30 ng gabi nitong Lunes.

Ayon kay Calubaquib, nagresulta ang pag-atake sa pagkamatay ng hindi pa nakikilala­ng bystander at pagkasugat nina PO1 Rolan Geul; PO1 Sonny Son Estera; at PO1 Melvin Bartolata.

Noong araw ding iyon, inatake ng

mga hinihinala­ng NPA ang Cristo Rey Detachment of 22 Infantry Battalion (22IB) ng Philippine Army, na matatagpua­n sa Barangay Cristo Rey, Bato sa Camarines Sur, dakong 8:30 ng gabi.

"The Cristo Rey Detachment of 22IB, 9ID of the Philippine Army based at Brgy. Cristo Rey, Bato, Camarines Sur heard gun fires more or less 200 meters south area of the detachment. PNP personnel of Bato MPS is on standby alert," pahayag ni Calubaquib.

Sa ganap na 9:15 ng gabi nitong Disyembre 17, inatake rin ng mga pinaniniwa­laang NPA ang 501st Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 5 (RMFB5), na matatagpua­n sa Zone 2, Brgy. Panoypoyan, Bula, Camarines Sur.

"The 501st Manuever Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion or the

RMFB 5 based in Zone 2, Brgy. Panoypoyan, Bula, Camarines Sur troops were alerted by sudden burst of fire approximat­ely 250 meters southeaste­rn part of the headquarte­rs. Immediatel­y, troops conducted camp defense plan SOPs and the troops were instructed to observe and prepare to retaliate in case of enemy attack. Upon determinin­g the enemy position, the troops retaliates and firefight lasted for about 2 minutes," aniya.
