Filipino delegates tutulak sa Panama para sa World Youth Day
Daan-daang Pilipinong delegado ang inaasahang bibiyahe sa Panama upang makiisa sa World Youth Day na magsisimula sa Enero 22-27, 2019.
Ayon kay Rev. Fr. Conegundo Garganta, executive director ng Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines – Episcopal Commission on Youth, nasa 250 Pinoy, binubuo ng Catholic prelates at kabataan, ang makikiisa sa event.
Sinabi ni Garganta na ang makikiisang Church officials ay sina Diocese of Talibon Bishop Daniel Patrick Parcon, Diocese of Bacolod Bishop Patrick Buzon, Diocese of Novaliches Bishop Antonio Tobias, at Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle.
“One is Bishop Parcon of Talibon, Bishop Pat Buzon of Bacolod, I understand that the Cardinal, Cardinal Tagle will also participate; Bishop Tobias of Novaliches is also coming. These are the Bishops that I know who already registered for the World Youth Day to be held in Panama, around 200 to 250 I’m not sure of the number because we have not collected or gathered the numbers yet from those other groups outside of the Episcopal Commission on Youth,” pahayag ni Garganta, sa panayam sa Radyo Veritas.
Samantala, sinabi ni Garganta na ang youth pilgrims ay magmumula sa iba’t ibang simbahan, dioceses, paaralan, at youth organizations.
Idinaos ang unang World Youth Day event sa Rome, Italy noong 1986.
