Provincial task force vs rebels, hinikayat

Sa paglikha ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), hinikayat ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang 81 probinsiya sa bansa “to do their share in bringing local insurgency to its conclusion” sa pamamagitan ng pagoorganisa ng kani-kanilang task force laban sa insurgency.

“With no less than President Rodrigo R. Duterte himself taking the role as National Task Force Chairperson, provincial governments should follow his lead by taking more active and decisive actions to counter communist terrorist groups through the creation of a provincial task force,” ani DILG Secretary Eduardo Año.

Binigyang-diin ni Año na ang local government units (LGUs), kabilang ang mga lalawigan, ay may mahalagang papel sa pagbura sa ilang dekada nang problema sa mga lokal na komunista dahil “they are more grounded on the societal issues in their localities which are being exploited by communist terrorist groups to influence locals to take up arms against the government.”

Iginiit ni Año ang pangunahing responsibilidad ng provincial task force ay i-harmonize at palakasin ang mga pagsisikap at resources ng gobyerno sa provincial level para matugunan ang ugat ng insurhensiya at makamtan ang kapayapaan at kaunlaran.

Disyembre nitong nakaraang taon nang lagdaan ni Pangulong Duterte ang Executive Order No. 70 na nag-institutionalized sa whole-of-nation approach sa pagtugon sa insurgency sa pamamagitan ng paglikha ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).

Pinuri ng DILG Secretary ang Cavite bilang unang nag-organisa ng PTF-ELCAC sa pamamagitan ng resolusyon na inaprubahan ng Provincial Peace and Order Council nitong Marso 8 sa Trece Martires City.
