4 credit card fraudsters, arestado

Arestado ang apat na hinihinalang miyembro ng grupo ng mga credit card fraudsters sa Metro Manila.

Ayon kay Director Guillermo Eleazar, head ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), nag-ugat ang operasyon sa reklamo ng isang security officer ng Resorts World sa Maynila hinggil sa isang babae na gumagamit ng pekeng credit card.

Kalaunan ito ay kinilalang si Czarynah Datu, 37, nang magtungo ang mga pulis sa lugar at inaresto.

Sa interogasyon, pinangalanan ni Datu ang kanyang mga kasabwat at nagkasa ng follow-up operations sa Maynila at Quezon City. Tatlo sa mga suspek ang inaresto.

Kinilala ang mga ito na sina Paul Cabalza, 45; Eduardo Nera, Jr., 41; at Teresita Caranglan, 61.

“We checked with the bank if this person (Datu) is authorize to possess the credit card. But the bank said she is not so it was the bank which filed the complaint against her,” pahayag ni Eleazar.

Kinumpirma rin ng bangko na ang credit card na nakuha kay Datu ay ginagamit sa mga ilegal na transaksiyon, ayon kay Eleazar.

Nakuha ni Chief Supt. Crizaldo Nieves, deputy regional director for Operations, sa mga suspek ang skimming device, Louis Vitton Booklet na naglalaman ng iba’t ibang card information at contact numbers ng prospected subjects, several credit cards at identification (ID) cards.

Pinaalalahanan niya ang mga credit card owners na maging alerto.

“As much as possible, they should actually see when their cards are being swiped. If it possible, they should accompany the waiter to the counter to see how their cards are used,” ayon kay Nieves.

Kakasuhan ang mga suspek sa paglabag sa RA 8484 (Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998), RA 8239 (The Philippine Passport Act of 1996), at RA 172 ng RPC (Falsification by private individuals and use of Falsified Documents).
