WHIRL’S CUP NG JAMBA, PATOK SA PINOY
MAS kinagiliwan ng Pinoy ang bakasyon, sa kabila nang mainit na panalo, sa iba’t ibang outdoor activities kabilang na ang second edition ng Whirl’s Cup Ultimate Frisbee tournament sa pagtataguyod ng Jamba Juice kamakailan sa Ayala Alabang Country Club.
Sa ikalawang sunod na taon, isinasagawa ang dalawang araw na torneo upang maenganyo ang Pinoy na makiisa sa mga programa na naglalayon na palakasin ang pangangatawan at pagkakaroon ng ehersisyo. Inorganisa ng torneo ng JMJ Sports Training Services, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Philippine Flying Disc Association.
Kabuuang 550 players mula sa 27 koponan ang lumahok sa iba’t ibang division tulad ng first-timers, regulars, at veteran.
Bukod sa mga laro, nasukat din ng mga atleta higit yaong mga baguhan ang kanilang kakayahan at athletic prowess.
“At Jamba, we believe in blending goodness into every moment. “When we looked at Ultimate Frisbee, we saw how the community blended each individual player into one big family. From ages 15 to 50, men and women blended together for a weekend of Ultimate fun and Jamba Juice smoothies.”
Ang Whirl’d Cup ay isang pamamaraan para maipakilala sa sambayanan ang Ultimate, isang fast-paced, no-contact sport, na nangangailangan lamang ng disc at espasyo para mapaglaruan.
“For us, Ultimate is the sport that best encapsulates our values and our vision for how anyone can live a Better Blended life,” sambit ni Elumba. “Ultimate is a great way to blend people of different ages, sexes, professions, and backgrounds in one space, as the sport’s inclusive nature makes it easier for people who share a passion for sports, fitness, and good food and drink to come together.”
Naging fund-raising campaign din ang torneo sa pamamagitan ng pagbili ng Jamba Juice ay may katumbas na bahagi para suportahan ang Pilipinas Ultimate, ang national Ultimate team, na nakatakdang sumabak sa torneo sa Japan at China.
“Just as it’s important to nourish our bodies with delicious and nutritious food, we believe that it is important for more Filipinos to enjoy a more inclusive experience of sports. A better you starts with better food (in this case, our smoothies), and when you can tap into the better you, you can help create a better world,” pahayag ni Elumba. “We hope that more people will be inspired by the Whirl’d Cup, start creating their vision of a healthful life, and get blended into Ultimate’s exciting and fun scene.”
