New Clark City, pasado sa PSC
HINDI mapapahiya ang bansa sa mga modern at world-class na pasilidad para sa 30th Southeast Asian Games hosting.
Ito ang nagkakaisang pahayag ng mga opisyal ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) matapos ang isinagawang ‘ocular inspection’ sa itinayong Athletes Village, track oval, swimming pool at iba pang pasilidad sa Subic Bay Freeport at New Clark City sa Pampanga nitong Martes.
Nakatakda ang biennial meet sa Nobyembre 30 hanggang Disyembre 10.
Kamakalawa ay bumisita ang PSC sa pangunguna ni chairman William “Butch” Ramirez sa mga venue sites ng biennial meet sa Subic Bay Free Port at sa New Clark City Pampanga kasama sina commissioners Fernandez, Charles Maxey at Arnold Agustin.
Ikinatuwa ni Fernandez ang naging development na ipinirisinta ng developer na Bases Convention and Development Authority (BCDA) sa pangunguna ni Engineer Jerico Bondoc kung saan ay 90porsyento na matapos sa kabuuang venue, 97% sa Athletics, 94% sa aquatic center.
“World Class! This is what we are looking for. I am very proud to say that we can now give our athletes ‘yung kailangan nila. With these new sports facilities, mas maayos ang training n gating mga atleta,” pahayag ni Commissioner Ramon Fernandez.
“These will not only be used for SEA Games alone. We are hoping that this will not become ‘white elephant’ after Sea Games.We will make sure na nagagamit ito ng mga atleta for their training,” aniya.
Ang Athletics Stadium ay may kabuuang 20,000 seaters habang ang aquatics center naman ay may kabuuang 2,000 seaters samantalang ang athletes village Naman ay may 525 kwarto para sa mga atleta.
“Our athletes will be more inspired to train and to win,” aniya.
Nagsisimula na rin ang paglarga sa pagsasaayos sa Subi kung saan gaganapin ang mga sports na open water swimming, duathlon, triathlon at modern pentathlon.
“We are thankful to the President for supporting Philippine sports,” pahayag namana ni Ramirez.
“We will continue to update the President, through Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea and Committee on Sports Chairman Sen. Bong Go on the developments of these competition venues in both Subic and Clark,” aaniya.
