Pagdiriwang ng National Bible Month sa Pangasinan

NAGHANDA na ng iba’t ibang aktibidad ang mga lokal na pamahalaan sa probinsiya ng Pangasinan kasama ang iba pang non-government, para sa pagdiriwang ng National Bible Month ngayong Enero.

Sa pagbabahagi ni Myra Jalique, evangelist at Christian musical artists, ilan aniyang grupo ang mamamahagi ng mga Bibliya sa mga kampo ng militar, bilangguan, hotel at iba pang lugar sa probinsiya.

“In Binalonan town, there will be Bible sharing to all barangay officials, while the government employees and officials in Sta. Barbara town will each memorize their memory verses from the Bible. Dasol town will conduct a program for the youth geared on loving the Bible, and Binmaley town will have its “Gabi ng mga Kristiyano” focusing in the Bible. Some schools will conduct festivals of the Bible,” aniya sa isang forumnitong Martes.

Pahayag ni Jalique, naghahanda na rin ang iba pang mga LGU, kabilang ang San Carlos City, Bolinao, San Fabian, at Villasis, para sa mga aktibidad na may kaugnayan sa National Bible Month.

“The provincial government of Pangasinan has dedicated the last week of January as the National Bible Week for the province. This was made possible when the provincial government a few years ago institutionalized the National Bible Week for the province through a provincial ordinance passed and approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan,”dagdag pa niya.

Noong nakaraang taon, pinangunahan ng Pangsinan ang unang National Bible Quiz na idinaos sa Sison Auditorium, na bumubuo sa bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng National Bible Week.

Hinihikayat, din aniya, ng probinsiyal na pamahalaan ang mga LGU na magdaos ng Bible reading sa kabilang mga flag-raising ceremony para sa buong buwan ng Enero.

“We encourage Pangasinenses to celebrate the Bible because we believe that it has the power to change lives. This is the time that we need to read the Bible and not to fear, but to fill us with hope in the midst of challenges and catastrophe. If you read the Bible, the events happening around us will not be a shocker,”aniya.

Tema ng pagdiriwang ngayon taon ang “Vision 2020: The Bible Transforms and Unites the Nation.”

Si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang naglabas ng Presidential Proclamation 124 noong 2017 na nagdedeklara sa buwan ng Enero bilang “National Bible Month” bilang pagkilala sa “religious nature of the Filipino people and the elevating influence of religion in human society.”
